Burberry, a British luxury fashion house announces to be the first luxury brand and one of the first companies to obtain the STBi approval for the net-zero emissions target. This approval sets Burberry’s goal to reach net-zero emissions by 2040, based on the newest climate research.Â
The target is supported by the brand’s commitments across scope 1,2 and 3 emissions. Scopes 1 and 2 refer to emissions created by the brand’s own operations, including electricity and gas in Burberry stores, hubs and offices. Scope 3 covers emissions in Burberry’s extended supply chain, such as the use of energy in Burberry’s partners.
